"As an artist I was constantly in search of new mediums until I discovered alcohol inks. These inks have captured my imagination, allowing me to create rich textures and vivid colors. Working with the controlled chaos of fluid ink requires flexibility, patience, and resilience, as well as adequate ventilation. Nevertheless, I find the process to be meditative.
"My work is influenced by the playful experimentation of Spanish painter Remedios Varo, the deep symbology of the American printmaker Marvin Hill. I enjoy exploring the subtle interplay of mathematics, art, and nature. Mathematical elements appear in many of my pieces, including fractal coastlines and visual representations of symmetry groups." --Teena Carroll
