"Both High Tide and Low Tide were created at Hilton Head Island. I was entranced by the differences in the tides and how they affected the water. High Tide waves were large and rough. A few people were surfing in them. Low Tide had very few waves at all. The water was calm and placid, almost like a lake. Each piece was created during the tide after which they are named." --Virginia Lee McLean
Virginia Lee McLean is from Lyman, SC. She enjoys the process of experimenting and making art almost as much, if not more than, the outcome. She is influenced by nature, especially botanicals. Virginia creates cyanotype, mixed media and textile art, including embroidery and macramé.
