Rocks Glasses Class Information

Take a Rocks Glasses pottery class at The FORD Studios!

During this class, students make a set of four rocks glasses.  The class will begin with practicing texture techniques like embossing & stamping.  You will then make rocks glasses step-by-step.  (The image is of unfired, unglazed glasses in progress.)

(If there is not a date with available slots, you may schedule a private class by emailing us at theFORDstudios@gmail.com if you have at least 3 people to register.)

GUIDELINES:

  • LIMITED SEATING: Each session is normally limited to 4/5 people.  
  • LENGTH of STUDIO TIME: 2 hours
  • AGE LIMIT:  Participants must be at least 13 years or older unless there is a supervising adult also taking the class.
  • No one  may accompany you unless they are also a paid participant in the Rocks Glasses pottery class.
  • PICK UP:  The pieces you make will be available 4 to 6 weeks after your studio time.  Please be sure to provide an email address and/or phone number to be notified when your pottery is available for pickup.
  • APRONS not provided.  Please bring/wear something you don't mind getting dirty; however, you will be using non-staining porcelain clay... so it will wash out of clothing.
  • We are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 & hope you are as well.  If you are not vaccinated, we ask that you wear a mask while inside The FORD Studios.

FEES:

  • $70 per person.  This fee covers the studio time, materials, finish glazing, firing & clean up.  You make the glasses, we will glaze & fire them.

    FINE PRINT:

    *** You may cancel your reservation and receive a full refund if you email your request to cancel to theFORDstudios@gmail.com by 5pm EST three days prior to your reserved studio session.  After that, you will not receive a refund.

    **** You may bring your own beverages; however, alcoholic beverages are only allowed in classes where all 4 participants are a part of the same party or all participants consent. theFORDstudios@gmail.com.

    **** There are 6 parking spaces in the garage attached to the rear of the building located at 103 Pendleton St, Marion VA 24354.  The spaces are clearly marked with The FORD Studios logo.  If all the gallery spaces are full, there is street parking is available on Main Street.
